Black American West: Tuskegee Airmen of Colorado

Among some of the most noted of the famed Tuskegee Airmen who flew in WWII was a local Coloradan. John Mosley, who graduation from Manual High in Denver as a National Merit Scholar, was the first black football player at CSU. He went on to become one of the first African American bomber pilots for the US Army Air Corps and flew with the 99th Fighter Squadron, known as the Tuskegee Airmen.
