Arturo Garcia's Story

The Family and Community Department in Denver Public Schools and the Multicultural Outreach Office Proudly announce the first of a series of documentaries in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. From September 15th through October 15th we will be sharing the success stories of many community members through the arts, culture and interviews of those individuals that have made and continue to make an impact in the lives of our community. This week we are featuring the story of Arturo Garcia and his contribution to Art through his career and in the neighborhood Westwood where he runs La Casa de la Cultura a place where the whole community is welcome to visit and experience what is like to enjoy and learn how to create beautiful paintings. In this documentary Arturo Garcia will also take us through his journey from Chapala Mexico into the united states , his experience as an immigrant a strong message of resilience as he became a survivor of a terrible illness which inspired him to continue to live life to the fullest while crafting his art.
